US and Ukraine Flag Exchange
United States Veterans Sgt Daniel Garcia (USMC Vietnam Veteran) and Lt Col Jacqueline C Garcia (USAF, Retired) travelled on a peace mission to Ukraine. On October 14, 2024, the Garcias they presented the flag of the United States to the people of Ukraine and a representative of the Ukrainian Parliament (Commissioner for Human Rights). Mr. Valerii Filippov, advisor to the Commissioner, received our US flag. Also receiving the US Flag was the President of the Ukrainian Bible Society, Dr. Grygorii I. Komendant. As a result of this gesture, the US flag is now with the Ukrainian troops to show support and solidarity with those fighting for their nation.
As a reciprocal gesture, Mr. Filippov gave the Garcias the Ukrainian flag to graciously present to the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Peace Pole Ceremony in Irpin, Ukraine
On a return trip to Ukraine, Danny and Jackie C. Garcia performed a peace ceremony on Nov 13, 2024. They led the peace pole planting ceremony in the center of Irpin, Ukraine (a Hero City).
Many thanks to the honorable and distinguished Dr. Gregorii Komendant for his hospitality at his Christian Life Center and sanctuary in Irpin, Kyyivs’Ka Oblast’, Ukraine. Dr. Komendant selected the site on his property as well as a biblical phrase on the pole giving all glory to God.
Likewise, much appreciation is due to the Garcias’ host, Roman and AnnaKondratiuk (who made this pole at his rebuilt children’s furniture factory WoodandHearts Україна), his team, and his family. The Acting Mayor of Irpin, Ms. Tatiana Yarshenko, wrote a lovely letter of acknowledgment. Ms. Yarshenko also presented “Irpin is My Home”, a book of children poetry about war.
Additionally, the Garcias received a Ukrainian bible to present to the US President and his family.
No doubt, planting this symbol of peace in a sanctuary site was a historic moment, and admonition for peace. For the children and for world peace.
Brotherly Love and Prayer
The following day, youth meeting in Irpin gathered at the Christian Life Center. Danny Garcia led them in prayer. The Garcias’ believe in the power of prayer and that God is with Ukraine.
Please continue to pray for the people.
