The Garcias Appear in the Wings Over Houston Heroes and Legends Tent

The trio of Sgt Danny Garcia Walking Man, Lt Col Jackie C. Garcia, and SSgt Asher Garcia made a first-time appearance at Wings Over Houston, Oct 17-19, 2025. We are privileged to be invited as special guests in the Heroes and Legends Autograph Tent. It was humbling and such an honor to be amongst such personalities of air, space, ground, & sea from WWII, Vietnam, and Afghanistan. Also included was the original Tinker Bell and the former pitcher of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (made famous by the movie “A League of Their Own), Maybelle Blair.

Aircraft from Various Wars

The airshow covered over a mile of airfield. Spectators were up close to the taxiway with spectacular views of precision flying. It was real treat to see such a variety of aircraft, to include NASA and commercial aircraft. The only two operational and (still!) flying B-29 Superfortresses, nicknamed FiFi and Doc, flew in tandem. The aircraft of Tora! Tora! Tora! put on a pyro show that sure did make us jump. We also watched the preshow with Make-A-Wish children. One inspirational young man started his own nonprofit to help other children who are suffering from cancer.

Executive Director, Wings Over Houston

We had a special visit from our Executive Director, Bill Roach, and Gretchen Roach during the WOH Legends and Heroes Autograph Tent Event. Bill Roach was honored with a flag-folding ceremony and presentation of the US flag. Chaplain Jeff Smart led us in prayer, with Gretchen Roach, and Sherri Anderson, CEO of Fairway Cares. Many thanks to the participants, guests, and hundreds of volunteers for taking the time to attend and enjoy the Wings Over Houston Airshow 2025.”

CAF Wings Over Houston Airshow

The CAF Wings Over Houston Airshow is an IRC 501(c)(3) community event presented by the volunteer efforts of the Houston Wing, Gulf Coast Wing, and Tora! Tora! Tora! of the Commemorative Air Force, with support from the Lone Star Flight Museum, Collings Foundation-Houston based at Ellington Airport, and the Vietnam War Flight Museum. One of the top air shows in the United States, this premier Houston event is dedicated to showcasing vintage World War II aircraft, along with the thrills of modern aviation, and has supported a variety of local and national charities during its 40-year history.
