A Night to Remember

On November 15, 2025, our family had the honor of attending the 250th United States Marine Corps Birthday Ball in Cocoa, Florida. It was a powerful evening of remembrance, gratitude, and pride. US Marines, families, and friends gathered to celebrate 250 years of courage, sacrifice, and faithful service to our nation.

I was blessed to stand beside my husband, Danny Garcia Walking Man, a proud US Vietnam Marine veteran. His sons, Danny Garcia Jr. and Sean Garcia, and Danny’s faithful service dog, SSgt Asher joined the celebration. Seeing three generations together in one room, honoring the Corps and all who have worn the uniform, was deeply moving and humbling.

250 Years of Courage and Sacrifice

Two hundred fifty years of the United States Marine Corps is more than a number. It represents generations of men and women who raised their right hand, answered the call, and stood in harm’s way so others could live in freedom.

Such a milestone represents families who prayed, waited, and carried their own quiet burdens at home.  It represents lives changed, stories of loss and redemption, and a legacy that continues with every new Marine who steps onto the yellow footprints.

Family, Service, and a Living Legacy

As I watched Danny—USMC Vietnam veteran, husband, “Walking Man,” and servant-leader—stand alongside his sons and SSgt Asher, I was reminded that our combined service does not end when the uniform comes off.

The same hearts that marched, deployed, and sacrificed now walk, speak, and encourage others through Global Walk Inc. The US Marine Corps instilled discipline, honor, and commitment in Danny’s life, and those values still shape our family’s mission today.

Thank You, Marine Corps League Detachment 513

We are especially grateful to the members of Marine Corps League Detachment 513 for hosting such a meaningful and memorable event. From the ceremony and traditions to the fellowship and warm welcome, our teammates created a night that honored the past, strengthened the present, and inspired hope for the future. Special hats off to the Young Marines who posted the colors. They were fabulous and professional.

Thank you for all you do to support Marines, veterans, and their families in our community.

As we reflect on this 250th USMC birthday, our hearts are full of gratitude—to God, to the United States Marine Corps, to every Marine and family who has carried the weight of service, and to all who serve our country. May we never take your sacrifice for granted.

Semper Fidelis—and thank you for allowing our family to share this special evening with you.
